Investigation Blog Post

For my Investigation Posts, I will be using the Process Page. The Process Page is a reflection page that someone takes pictures randomly through your production sequence. Once I have those pictures, I will explain what I'm doing, am I having trouble/are things going alright? And, am I satisfied with my progress.

Pre-production:

Pre-Production, is the first step. It's me thinking of a film idea, and writing down notes/ideas. It is also where you create the script, storyboard, and do location and cast hunting. It's the thing that every director and create of a story/film needs to do. They might higher someone, or ask for volunteers to help make it faster. The director is also in charge of working with the cast and do run throughs of the script, to give them notes and help them in becoming the character they are playing. Asking questions like; "What would (Insert Character name) do in this situation". And that would help the cast in developing a better idea.

Production:

With Production, this is where everyone, (Cast, Crew, Director, etc.) Go to the first filming spot and run through the scene a few times, while the crew is setting up, before getting ready to film. The Director stays behind the camera and watches the scene playing out, while the cast goes through everything. During this time, the Director can be taking notes, listening/watching intently, or watching the crew closely, making sure they do what they are supposed to at the right time. During Production, there are many run throughs of scenes due to bloopers, malfunctions, or it just needs to be re-done. The Director is the one to make that call as they watch behind the cameras.

Post production:

Last, but not least, the Post Production. With this, the editor that the director hired (or maybe the director does it themselves depending on the size of the production), will take all the footage and go onto their system that they will be using to edit everything together, and create the final product. This part may take the longest to do, because of how exact the audio needs to be to the video, the way the camera and lighting needs to be, the levels of audio, and taking away shots that may not need to be in there. It could also include adding in vocals/music, noises, special effects, or backing tracks.

In this case, I will be doing all three jobs, and making sure that the film that I created is ready for the notes from my peers, to help make my productions better.
