Today I will be focused on Screenwriting and Agents.

Screenwriting:

Screenwriting 101: 7 Basic Steps to Writing a Screenplay | Pond5

Screenwriting is an art and craft of scripts that were/are written for feature films, television productions, or video games. It is very difficult to get into screenwriting, especially if you, as the writer, are trying to aim for a full-length Hollywood feature. The odds of reaching that goal, again, especially if it is your first or second screenplay, you are pretty much out of luck. For screenwriters, there can be big money that is made out of it. They can make as little as $25,000 to $30,ooo a year, by doing very small jobs. But, if they are in an in-demand screenwriting willing to do rewrites, they can make millions of dollars a year. They don't need degrees, but it could help in their skills. Several colleges, universities, and film schools tend to offer degree programs in writing, for screen and television or film studies and screenwriting.

(Personally for me, when I would go on college visits and looked into film schools and their programs, when they would go over the year and what we would learn and study if we took that class, there is always a screenwriting section.)

Agents for Acting:

When it comes to agents and acting, the two go very well together. It might not be easy to find one, but once you do, it can be very helpful. Agents help in finding jobs for, not just actors, but: athletes, musicians, models, etc. For acting, the agents submit their clients for auditions, pitch them for roles, follow up on submissions/auditions, negotiate better pay/contracts, and renegotiate existing contracts. With cost, most acting agents will ask for 10-15% of the salary or earnings up to $50,000 per year. (So if an actor makes $500,000, the agent will ask for 10% and get $50,000). Having an agent isn't required to become an actor, a lot of A-List actors have started their acting career without the help of a talent agent. If a person does not have an agent, what they can do is look at places that hire or post auditions, such as backstage. (Although, most require money.)
