Design has more than one meaning with how it is shown (Clothing, art, makeup, etc.) yet in the end, it has the same effect of viewing. Design can also tie in with technique and how it is being used towards the audience. With design for film, there can be different kind of styles. Such as:

...etc. Although they are different styles/designs, they all use voice actors/actors in the way that's best fit, but the way it is presented is what matters/is important. The audience want to watch a film or a show that relates or pleases them in some way. Hence why there are different themes, story lines, and plots to entertainment. The design is only part of what can intrigue the audience member, but it is important enough that it is taken very seriously. Audiences want something that isn't boring to watch and is pleasing to the eye. But, the role of a design artist, whoever it may be, needs to make sure that they don't go too overboard with techniques and colors.
