Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas: Careful analysis and attention has been given to finding an area of digital media to begin a focus on.
- Like before, in my last blog, I had stated how, when going through the many themes we could choose for our films, I was torn between disaster and history. I am a very big fan of both, so I had to figure out a plan. I thought about what it would take to create these films, and what I am and am not capable of doing. Because obviously, I don't have the money to buy a whole office building, and film there, or the money to make my own set, like the Squid Games, director did. In the end, I decided to go with history, and how the effects of situations have on society and their citizens.
- Continuing with research, it was interesting to find how many things affect humans and society. It could be from: regular everyday norms. Like going to school, shopping, or eating- even to things that don't happen often, from attacks like 9/11 or urban legends passed down for years, maybe even things that could happen in 100 years. The more research I did, the more my imagination didn't waste one second as it started brainstorming possibility after possibility. And, even with the research that I found, I still gathered some of my own ideas, mixing it together to add more of a Historical Fiction aspect, to it.
Planning: What to do. Making and communicating decisions; how to implement them, and projecting their consequences
- The first thing I did with planning is, I wrote down many ideas that all circled around my theme. I then thought of which ideas would be the easiest to film, and which idea would be the best fit for my first portfolio film.
- I ended up coming up with the idea of Urban Legends, and so I focused my research on the different kinds. Some were: Jack the Ripper and Bloody Mary. And although Bloody Mary is a fun game and would have been interesting to do/film, most people know the story already.

- Plus, I didn't want to do filming and the actual ritual, only to find out it is real and, you know, have a lady haunting my house and all.

Producing: Creating what has been planned.
- Writing the script was not difficult at all, in fact, I was able to write in within two days, not even. But, of course, I would do little tweaks and edits over the time of the film being in production.
- It wasn't difficult to write out what I could see happening. It was difficult, however, in actually creating what I had written down. It took a lot of improvisation, storyboarding, and continuous scene filming to get an adequate film. Especially with having to storyboard 6 different people and how I would see them/how the camera and audience should see them in each scene. Once I got to the actual filming location that was given to me by one of the cast members, It was easier to follow the storyboard, but also my own mind. It's nice to write things down, but when filming, a lot of things can change easily, so I always have an open mind.
- In the end, I did get the product I was aiming for, and was very happy with how it turned out. There were a few things that I noticed during the filming that I wish I was more aware about, was background. Some of the behind the scene props were visible at times, and so, I will need to learn how to move and hide them. Although, in the end, I completed it, got my point across, and had fun for the most part making the film for my class.

Evaluating: Evaluating the experience; testing what has been produced and assessing what has been done to determine if the problem has been solved as intended or the goals attained.
- It was fun filming with the actors, but they tended to get a bit side-tracked a lot, and I didn't want to say much about it, because I wanted them to have fun, but at the same time I've learned I need to take more control. It was also close to below freezing when we were filming, so everyone was freezing. Prior to filming, I bought feet and hand warmers from Rite-aid, and actually bought almost every single packet they had. I'm pretty sure I walked out with over 25 packets.
- I also plan on taking advantage of the time off that I have, making sure every day I am planning, checking in with actors and actresses, making my own plans and scheduling filming dates with the cast and crew of the film.
Integrating: Integrating what is learned with knowledge from prior experience to improve an outcome or prepare for the future.
- And, like before, I want my films to be able to inspire those who are watching (The Audience), and I want to spread messages across in ways that are interesting, informative, and different.
- Film is my life, and in order to become a famous movie director like Tim Burton or Steven Spielberg, I will have to prepare myself for the challenges that come along with directing.
- My goal from my last marking period blog, was to feel some of the pressure and success that Directors might feel when going through the three stages of production that come with Hollywood or any Motion Picture film. Which, I did end up feeling, when it came to Clara the Candy Lady.
