Casting directors have a very important job, when it comes to anything with acting. (Hence why their names in the credits are close to the directors).  A casting director is involved in the production of a film from the start of the project. In the pre-production phase of a show, the casting director will read the script to determine which actors might fit well in the roles that are listed.  https://www.backstage.com/magazine/article/working-casting-will-make-successful-actor-1619/ Then, they work with the producers to determine the casting needs and the budget for the actors- they also meet with the director to get a sense of what the show's leader envisions for the characters in the production. From that point, the casting director then becomes the driver of the cast. Casting directors run auditions, contact companies that assist with local extras and casting, and also connecting with local talent agents in various states and countries when the production requires it.

Async. Blog 4/13

As of right now, I do not plan on changing much. I am pretty set on my design, but I still need to figure out what I'm going to use for coloring. Whether it be marker, crayon (although that might look a bit rough on the cardboard), Or I could also try color pencil (but that might take too long. Thinking about it more, I'll probably use sharpie and other markers to do designs, to write my name and anything else that needs to be written on- and not typed. Everything else will be typed in Times New Roman, with size 12 font, and double spaced.  I plan on printing out a few photos of actors, directors, etc. who have inspired me,and then write a short blurb next to their photo explaining how they influenced/inspired me and maybe how they got to be who they are, what their most famous work is, etc.  The same will be for the right side, but instead of the directors and actors, it'll be my own pieces of work, and screenshots that I took from some of my films.   My design is going to be like a movie premiere, in a way. It'll be a triangle, and I will be working on it at school. I'll probably have between 7-8 photos. And I will put a collar of videos (I'm not sure how many yet).  My colors won't be too bright, but I will probably use Sharpie or darker shades of Marker, when designing everything.  The middle will have my name and what my class is: Film Portfolio. My name will be on the top and bottom part of the clapperboard (Which'll have lights around it). Underneath will be where the screen is, and I'll have a cardboard "table" set in the middle so it can rest on it. Then underneath I will have printed out scripts that I have written that people can read.  On the Left I will have my student thesis/paragraph on top- I'm not sure if I'm going to add a photo next to it or not yet. But then below I'm going to add a title of: 'Who Inspired Me:' and underneath there will be photos of actors/ac...

Austin Bennett: ( https://bennettblogss.blogspot.com/2022/01/end-of-semester-progress-update.html )   For Austin's project, he had focused on making 5 different ghosts- all representing the different emotions. He stated, "  My concept  was looking inwards, more specifically about how the little things in a day can add up to a breaking point and how it can effect someone almost as bad as if one big thing happened. *It was short, sweet, and very well coordinated.* With film, there are no limits to what can and can't be done when it comes to creativity. If I wanted to work with Austin, and come up with a way that we could combine our ideas, I would have to use special effects, and possibly a green screen.  Or, it would be an animated film, where the ghosts would be the "leads" and they would go on their daily business, and I would hire voice actors/actresses to speak for them- sort of like Inside Out, with how it was an animation, and there were voice actors who ca...

My film: Alone Until.. Here a few screenshots of the raw footage. It is a vlog, type of video, so my character looks at the camera a lot. As you can see, it is pretty emotional: sad, frustrated, scared, crazy, etc.- the character is at the stage where they are starting to realize reality, and the truth of what is happening to them.   (Talking about how they miss their girlfriend and best friend.) (Stopped recording and is letting the emotions flow out again.)   (Is getting mad at how everything is going bad, and how they just left the character there alone.) Even though I was a bit behind on filming, I have a good feeling on how this is going to turn out. I plan on adding effects that make it look like it's a view from a camera, as well as a cooler looking tone. And I might add an audio effect, depending on how it looks in the end.
