End of Marking Period 3 Reflections
Austin Bennett: (https://bennettblogss.blogspot.com/2022/01/end-of-semester-progress-update.html)
*It was short, sweet, and very well coordinated.*
With film, there are no limits to what can and can't be done when it comes to creativity. If I wanted to work with Austin, and come up with a way that we could combine our ideas, I would have to use special effects, and possibly a green screen. Or, it would be an animated film, where the ghosts would be the "leads" and they would go on their daily business, and I would hire voice actors/actresses to speak for them- sort of like Inside Out, with how it was an animation, and there were voice actors who came in and spoke as them.
Aliyah Alvarez: (https://mrbfilmclassblog2020.blogspot.com/2022/01/end-of-mp2-blogpost.html)
Similar to Me, I enjoy writing scripts/doing creative writing. During class, we had read one of their pieces, and it was really fun and well thought out.
Cory McCabe: (https://corymccabe.blogspot.com/2022/01/end-of-mp2-post.html)
For Cory, I found his very interesting. He had wanted to "Focus on the theme of the representation of everyday life." And that is exactly what he did with his documentary, when he would interview and make a story on his friend and wrestling.
I had always loved Documentaries. Especially one's on disasters- (Mainly because of the story and facts that you get while watching it.)
When I was first choosing my style of film, I was thinking about doing documentaries, but knew that It would take me longer, and I wasn't quite ready yet.
But, seeing the set up of Cory's documentary was interesting to me, and really helped me grasp the idea of camera angles, how a script is written, lighting, etc.
I would be curious to see how Cory would do an actual documentary- like, how it would turn out. You see those ones on Netflix, and I think it would be interesting to see if he goes down that path and creates something bigger.
My theme focuses on the real life aspects and how others are affected as well, in a way. For mine, I normally add in imagination and more plot to make the story more interesting- but still focus on the topic at hand. Such as my 9/11 film where I got a true event, but added in dialogue to add to the feeling, instead of it being a silent film with just video/footage. But, seeing how Cory did his, made me think that I can still focus around my theme but do a larger project.
