Artist Statement

Art and creativity has always been a part of my life. From playing piano to creating my own films when I was young- it has always been my go-to. Film brings me a type of joy that nothing else really can. I got into making films when I was in 7th grade, where I would make little acting and dancing videos for my grandparents, knowing it puts a smile on their faces. From lip-syncing and dancing to “Mama I’m a Big Girl Now” from Hairspray, to “Put your head on my shoulder, By Paul Anka. Every smile that they gave, boosted my confidence to continue my filming experience.

I joined Mr. Bomboy’s film class when I was a freshman, and followed it all the way up to my senior year. It was the best class, and I learned so many different and new things. Even though my main focus is acting and directing, I still had a blast with writing scripts and storyboards. Something about being able to write down my creative ideas made me even more excited with each film I made. Many of my films I make are a mixture between real-world stories, and my own ideas. The most recent film I made, “Alone Until…” is focused on the future and when everyone leaves Earth, where only one person is left on the planet. Later I realized it sounded a bit like Wall-E, but I made a way around it to make it my own. I also love making thrillers, and have been brain-storming many ideas.

My main goal of my films is to get the audience to react to the emotions that I am intending to send across. (Now of course, I know that won’t always work). But the thought of bringing people together to all share the same interest, giving people the chance to enjoy a movie at the theater, or at home with their loved ones, even those people who are planning on becoming a director or actor, or someone behind the scenes with films- giving them the inspiration just like I got mine. Film is my passion, and I can’t wait to see what I can create for those to enjoy in the future!
