Green screen (Or sometimes blue) is a big part of Cinematics. It is part of special effects, but in its own way. It's the backdrop against, where footage is shot, but than later is superimposed over a separately filmed background- in a visual effects program. Mainly known as: Chroma key compositing, color keying, or simply- Keying.  Unless you are the Squid Game's director, Hwang Dong-hyuk who makes almost everything, or even James Cameron who re-created a large model of the Titanic to use for filming- green screen is put in place.  https://finance.yahoo.com/photos/behind-scenes-em-squid-game-211926848/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Moviesinthemaking/comments/1irgbd/the_gigantic_80_historically_accurate_replica_of/ Most of the Marvel and Avenger movies use green screen, since a lot of it is things exploding and getting destroyed. Another major film that used green screen is 'The Great Gatsby.'  Green screen has been used in film since the 1930's for layer...

Design has more than one meaning with how it is shown (Clothing, art, makeup, etc.) yet in the end, it has the same effect of viewing. Design can also tie in with technique and how it is being used towards the audience. With design for film, there can be different kind of styles. Such as:  Anime: https://www.amazon.com/Howls-Moving-Castle-Jean-Simmons/dp/B000CDGVOE Cartoon: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1001526/ Live Action: https://www.amazon.com/ALADDIN-Will-Smith/dp/B07T1G32HW Stop Action: https://www.amazon.com/Selections-Motion-Picture-Corpse-Bride/dp/0739046950 ...etc. Although they are different styles/designs, they all use voice actors/actors in the way that's best fit, but the way it is presented is what matters/is important. The audience want to watch a film or a show that relates or pleases them in some way. Hence why there are different themes, story lines, and plots to entertainment. The design is only part of what can intrigue the audience member, but it is important ...

When filming or doing any kind of show, the set that it is taking place on is very important. Not only to the actors/actresses, but to the audience watching the show. It sets the mood, and creates a high level of imagination and perspective. Take the Hamilton stage, for instance. It never changes, yet it is neutral and can fit in any scenario. A part, that adds a cool effect, is the rotating center, where it helps the idea of walking, running, circling, etc. It adds to the emotions.      https://www.pinterest.com/pin/358317714083933273/   https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2021/10/11/entertainment/television/Squid-Game-art-director-set/20211011144722358.html In the next set piece, it is something from Squid Games. I had binged this series a while back, and always thought it was interesting on all the little details they had. As I watched behind the scenes, and read up on more details- I learned that the little town scene (above), was handmade, a...

My investigation will be focused on editing. For my current film, I have been struggling with lighting, and how to fix it. During class, as well as outside of school, I have been doing research on different ways to fix a low resolution shot. I needed to find something that would be able to help the grainy looking issue. It was very pixelated  and I know that I can't entirely fix it- but if I boost up the lighting and coloring schemes/pallet- The pixels will hopefully be able to be less ominous, and easier for the eye to ignore.  https://youtu.be/LIA_rs2bjEM With this video, it has helped me more in order to fix my film footage, the teensiest bit. It hasn't quite come out how I hoped it would, but with this video, it has at least helped in a little way. And with this, I can always make it seem like the video footage was "lost" footage- kind of improvise with the editing and change a little bit of the meaning, so it fits the foot...
